Pep Guardiola reveals Man City chances against Chelsea after Covid-19 struck the team

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola believes his team has what it takes to compete with Chelsea despite having some players out due to Coronavirus.

The citizens fell victim of Coronavirus some days when their match against Everton had to be postponed after some players tested positive for the virus.

England defender Kyle Walker and Gabriel Jesus test returned positive on Christmas Day and Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson has also hinted that he’s Covid-19 positive.

Though identities of some players who have joined the list of Covid-19 positive have not been revealed but it has been reported that some first team players make up the list .

With this in mind, Pep Guardiola might be giving some Academy players a chance to prove themselves as he expects a strong showing against Frank Lampard’s team.

Speaking to the press ahead of the match, Guardiola stated that Manchester City has a good enough squad to go there and try to compete against a tough opponent in Chelsea.

He stated that though the whole team know how it is with the Covid-19 outbreak but the rest of the squad are going to Stamford Bridge to play their game, with enthusiasm and good will to try to get a result and give a good performance.

Manchester City have been able to turn their season around as they are now unbeaten in their last six Premier League games.

Chelsea on the other hand, are still struggling to get back to their best as they’ve been having a mixed season.
