Chelsea player Cole Palmer has issued an apology to manager Mauricio Pochettino as he revealed why he threw a bottle at him during their 2-2 draw vs Arsenal last weekend.

The incident which occurred last Saturday after Chelsea drew 2-2 with Arsenal at Stamford Bridge caused a stir.

Palmer, who moved to Stamford Bridge in a £42.5 million deal from Manchester City this summer, opened the scoring from the spot.

However, after Mykhailo Mudryk made it 2-0, the North London club fought back to score two goals as the two sides split points.

After Arsenal scored a second goal in the minute, Palmer chucked a bottle towards the dugout and it hit Pochettino.

“When they scored their second goal I was getting a drink,” Palmer told Chelsea’s website.

“I went to throw the bottle away, as you do, but didn’t look. I just saw it loop dead slow and hit the gaffer.
