Former England star Michael Owen has applauded Chelsea’s latest recruit, Mykhailo Mudryk, after his impressive debut for Chelsea against Liverpool on Saturday.

Mudryk came in the 55th minute to help Graham Potter’s side push for a win at Anfield which ended in a goalless draw.

The former Shakhtar Donetsk forward impressed with some good runs and taking on defenders and almost scored a goal for Chelsea.

Owen expressed his excitement by the way the 22-year-old winger started his Chelsea career, describing him as absolutely brilliant.

When asked if he was excited by the Ukrainian’s performance, the former striker said on Premier League Productions, “Yes, He brought a bit of life and attacking flair and directness to the game for Chelsea. I think if you come on and start off like this, you’ll believe that you can do anything.

“Two quick great touches there. He was unbelievable. I know he is quick…if I’m a Chelsea fan I’ll be excited. He’s absolutely brilliant. I think he could be anything. Really really exciting.”
