Not worth it: Arsenal criticised for splashing £105m on midfielder

Former Manchester United star Roy Keane has criticised Arsenal’s summer signing Declan Rice, as he stressed that the English midfielder isn’t worth over £100 million.

Keane made this known as Arsenal defeated EPL champions Manchester City in Sunday’s FA Community Shield.

According to him, the North London overpaid to sign Rice.

Recall that Arsenal made headlines after they completed a club-record £105 million deal to sign Rice from West Ham this summer transfer window.

“I think he definitely has that quality in terms of adding more goals; he obviously has that physical strength; he can get in the box,” Keane told ITV Sport when asked about Arsenal’s decision to bring Rice to Emirates.

“They have obviously paid way too much for him, he is certainly not worth over £100 million,” said Declan Rice.

“We can say that about lots of players, I agree. But again, we will find out in the next year or two how good Declan is.”
