World football star and Argentina international Lionel Messi has named Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola as the best manager in the world.

Messi made this known while speaking in China as he said Guardiola deserved to win the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League trophy.

Speaking to the Chinese media on a Chinese stream platform about Guardiola, the world cup winner said: “Yes, and he deserved to win the Champions League.

“He is the best coach in the world.”

Recall that Guardiola coached Messi during their time together at Spanish club Barcelona, where they lift the Champions League before the Argentine left the Catalan club for French side Paris Saint Germain.

Guardiola on a number of occasions tried to reunite with Messi at Manchester City as he tried to sign him to the club to no avail.

Meanwhile, the Argentina World Cup winner arrived in Beijing, China via a private jet during the weekend and was amid cheers and fanfare from football lovers in the Asian country.
