Chelsea midfielder and Italy international Jorginho is already in the last months of his contract with Blues who he joined from the Italian club Napoli.

It, however, looks like the Blues are keen on keeping him beyond this season as they have reportedly put a new contract offer on the table for him.

It is no longer news that Chelsea key midfielders Jorginho and N’Golo Kante’s contracts would run out next summer in 2023, which means from January they will be able to agree on a pre-contract with another club if they are unable to reach new agreements with the west London side.

According to The Evening Standard, Chelsea are already in talks with Jorginho for a possible contract extension but the Italian international has rejected the offer over the wages.

The report claims that Jorginho has been presented with initial terms on an extended deal that would keep his wage similar to his current £120,000-a-week.

However, the Italian has asked for a pay rise that would see his salary be the same as Cesar Azpilicueta, who recentla signed a new £150,000-a-week deal.
