Mendy not among the top two goalkeeper in the EPL – Neville

According to a report, Chelsea goalkeeper, Eduardo Mendy was recently listed among the top goalies in Europe.

However, football pundit, Gary Neville has reacted to the report as he stated that Mendy is not among the two top goalkeepers in the Premier League.

According to Neville, Liverpool goalkeeper, Alisson Becker and Man City Elderson are the best goalkeepers in the Premier League.

“For me, Mendy, because I think Chelsea, with the goalkeeper they had [Kepa], had massive issues and they would not be where they are at,” Neville told Sky Sports

Neville however added in fairness since Mendy came in, the Blues fortunes, defensively, have changed.

According to him Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel has made his squad brilliant defensively.

Neville stressed that Mendy is part of the reason why Chelsea have made it to the finals in the UEFA champions league and FA Cup where they will face Man City and Leicester City respectively.

“I don’t think Ederson has been at his absolute best this season. I think Ederson and Alisson are the best two goalkeepers in the league, let’s be clear, but his impact this season,” he said.

Chelsea will return to action in the EPL on Wednesday when they play Arsenal.
