Mendy hailed for making crucial saves vs Leicester City

Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy was one of the players that played an important role in the weekend game against Leicester City.

The Blues won the games in a 2-1 win thanks to Raheem Sterling who scored a brace for Chelsea.

However, this wouldn’t have happened if Mendy had not made some crucial saves to prevent goals from the Foxes.

Chelsea star Ruben Loftus-Cheek in a post-match statement also acclaimed the impact made by Edouard Mendy following a tricky afternoon at Elland Road last weekend.

Loftus-Cheek in a statement via Chelsea website said ‘He was fantastic. One mistake doesn’t get him down, he’s ready to go again. That’s what a top player does.

‘Ed is a fantastic leader on the pitch and you can always hear his voice behind you, which is great, and obviously his goalkeeping ability is fantastic. He’s a massive plus for the team.’

The win against Leicester City comes after the Blues had suffered a massive defeat to Leeds United.

They will now focus on their next game against Southampton on Tuesday night.
