Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic has returned to training ahead of the Blues’ weekend games vs Everton.

Recall that the Croatian midfielder limped off in the first half of the Blues FA Cup semi-final win over Crystal Palace almost two weeks ago.

Ever since then, he has missed the Blues’ last three matches in the Premier League.

Aside from Kovacic,  Denmark international Andreas Christensen and English midfielder Ross Barkley also returned to training.

Christensen has missed the Blues’ last two matches with West Ham and Manchester United, while Barkley missed Thursday night’s trip to Old Trafford through illness.

Those who played the 90 minutes at Old Trafford underwent a recovery session inside, with the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Hakim Ziyech and Trevoh Chalobah all going out on the grass.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is likely to rest some of his key players who face Man Utd on Thursday night.

The Blues are currently seated on the third spot on the EPL table and will hope to solidly their spot by picking all three points vs Everton.
