Martinez sends message to Man Utd fans over his injury
Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez has shared a message to fans after it was confirmed he will be out for eight weeks with a knee injury.
The Argentina star was forced to leave the pitch during the second half of Man Utd’s 3-0 Premier League win over West Ham at Old Trafford.
A statement released by the club after the match confirmed that the defender sustained an injury to the medial collateral ligament in his knee, and he is now set for a spell on the sidelines.
The injury is a hugely disappointing setback for Martinez, who only recently returned from a previous long-term injury, but he remains upbeat and determined to bounce back.
In a post on social media, the defender shared a hopeful message with fans.
“I want to give a heartfelt thanks for the great support I’ve received and to reassure you that I’ll soon be back out there, and we’ll fight together. Always united!”
