Former Manchester United star Gary Neville has advised the club against sacking Erik ten Hag.

Neville made this known while commenting on the Red Devils’ 3-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday.

Erling Haaland scored a brace and created the assist for Phil Foden’s goal at Old Trafford as the Citizens won all three points.

The result means United sit in eighth place on the table, having lost five times in 10 fixtures.

Neville said on Sky Sports: “The last few weeks, the performances have been so poor. At this moment in time, I can’t quite see a moment where they get out of it.

“Changing the manager? Absolutely no chance; that’s not the right thong.

“Each manager has reached a level, and then it drops. It’s happening to Erik ten Hag before our eyes.”
