Former Crystal Palace owner, Simon Jordan in a recent statement slammed Manchester United for potentially losing out in the race for Barcelona star Frenkie De Jong.

With the look of the activities in the transfer market, it is looking very likely that the Red Devils are losing in the race to sign the Dutch midfielder from Barcelona as Chelsea seem to have the upper hand, having joined the race some weeks back.

Recall that Man United were the first to be linked with the midfielder and have been chasing him all summer before Chelsea joined the race.

But now, the Man Utd are on the verge of losing out on him to Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Jordan says the loss is another transfer blow to Erik ten Hag and Manchester United who have been locked in talks over the deal for weeks.

“It would be an embarrassment!” he said on talkSPORT.

“Because it would be 12 weeks of a circular discussion that’s gone nowhere!”
