A report has revealed that Man Utd are putting pressure on Chelsea defender and Germany international Antonio Rudiger to sign a new deal with them.

Rudiger’s current contract with the Blues will expire at the end of the season.

While they would love to give him a contract extension, they are unable to do so presently owing to the sanctions imposed on the club by the UK Government.

This is owing to Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich’s link with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who invaded Ukraine earlier this month.

According to French journalist Ignazio Genuardi, Rudiger is currently being placed under pressure by Manchester United to sign for the club ahead of the new campaign, which would keep him in England.

So far, the German defender has not made up his mind on where he wants to play next season as he has been linked with moves to Bayern Munich Real Madrid, among others.

The German is a key player within Thomas Tuchel’s team, having made 26 appearances in the Premier League and 13 times in other competitions.
