A latest report has claimed that Man Utd new interim coach Ralf Rangnick has contacted the agent of Chelsea defender and Germany international Antonio Rudiger for a possible transfer to Old Trafford.

It is no longer news that Rudiger is in his last months of his current contract with the Blues, and so far, no agreement has been reached on a possible extension.

As it stands, Rudiger will be on his way out of Stamford Bridge at the end of this season.

While clubs like Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have shown interest to sign Rudiger, Man Utd have also joined the race for the German defender.

According to Bild journalist Christian Falk, the English club’s interim manager Rangnick knows Rudiger’s brother and agent Sahr Senesie ‘very well’ and has ‘signalled a willingness to negotiate.

According to his term of the agreement with Man Utd, Rangnick will manage the club until the end of the season before he takes up a consultancy role, which will involve bringing new players to the club.

Rudiger remains a key player for Thomas Tuchel’s side this campaign as he has scored twice and providing four assists in 21 appearances in all competitions.
