The latest report has claimed that Manchester United are eying Chelsea defender and Germany international Antonio Rudiger as a replacement for Harry Maguire.

Rudiger will see his current contract expire at the end of this season at Stamford Bridge.

This means he has been free to agree to new contracts with other clubs since January.

So far, Rudiger has been linked with moves to Paris Saint Germain, among other top European clubs.

However, the Mirror is reporting that the Red Devils have not been dissuaded from a move for Rudiger, who has featured in 24 of Chelsea’s 25 Premier League matches so far this season.

Rudiger has reiterated his desire to focus on Chelsea’s pursuit of silverware this season, leaving a decision on his contract until the end of the campaign, having rejected the Blues’ current offers on the table.

The report continues with Man Utd Ralf Rangnick’s admiration for Rudiger and how interest in the defender could cast doubt over the future of captain Maguire, with the Red Devils ranking only ninth in goals conceded in the Premier League this campaign.
