The recent report has claimed Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is considering a surprise move for former Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley as a potential replacement for Casemiro.

Casemiro, who is the highest earner at £350,000 a week at Old Trafford has already attracted interest from the Saudi Pro League.

As of now, the Brazilian and Christian Eriksen have already been linked with a transfer away from Old Trafford at the end of the season.

The Red Devils are keen to ease their Financial Fair Play restrictions, which manager Erik ten Hag said stop them from signing a striker in January.

A report via The Sun revealed Ratcliffe has identified Barkley as a potential signing to bolster Man United’s midfield.

The report added that Ratcliffe and INEOS director of sport Sir Dave Brailsford are fans of Barkley, who currently plays for Luton Town.
