Man Utd can’t stop Ronaldo from leaving – Danny Murphy

Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag has been told he can’t stop the club’s striker Cristiano Ronaldo from leaving, this is according to Danny Murphy.

Murphy said the Portugal international will find his way out of Old Trafford this summer.

This comes after Ten Hag in a statement with the press in Thailand on Monday, insisted that the Portuguese star is not for sale, saying that the 37-year-old is part of his plans for this season.

It is no longer news that Ronaldo had told the club he wants to leave Old Trafford this summer over their lack of Champions League football.

“Ten Hag seems like a bright guy, he obviously believes this is the case and we’re not privy to these conversations with Ronaldo,” Murphy told talkSPORT.

“If he wants Ronaldo there, he’s got a year left and he’s having conversations with him.

“But, the fact Ronaldo, or his representatives, has verbally come out and said he wants another challenge suggests to me that’s what will happen.

“I don’t think Ten Hag’s desire to have him there will override Ronaldo’s desire to leave.”
