Football expert Mark Goldbridge has shared his take on the removal of Manchester United’s captaincy from Harry Maguire as he described the action as ruthless and a fatal humiliation.

Goldbridge believes that the Red Devils will have to let the defender leave for free if they want out of the club

The football expert, who is a Manchester United fan, in his online column, according to talkSPORT, described it as an humiliation.

Recall that Maguire had a few days ago taken to social media to reveal he had been stripped of his captaincy band at Man Utd.

“It must have been a bit of a shock for Maguire, but he now must understand he has to go elsewhere, especially if he wants to keep his England place,” Goldbridge said.

“It is going to be difficult because of the wages. He’s on £200,000 a week and is 31 this coming season. He’s still England’s starting centre-back, and United are going to want £40m or £50m. Who’s going to want to pay that and £ 200,000 a week?”
