Former football star Emmanuel Petit has advised Man Utd defender Harry Maguire to leave the club this summer.

Petit in his statement urged Maguire to consider a move to Stamford Bridge, which he said would be a ‘win-win’ situation for everyone involved.

Maguire has lost some game chances owing to his poor start amid Man Utd woes.

Since moving to Old Trafford from Leicester City in 2019, Maguire has been the subject of much criticism from United fans.

Maguire was left out of Man Utd’s 2-1 win against Liverpool last weekend and could end up becoming a backup player.

Petit in his statement said it was time for the defender to consider leaving Old Trafford.

“For me, I’m not sure Harry Maguire’s future is with Manchester United,” Petit told Fair Betting.

“I think things have gone too far. If I am Maguire, I would probably think about leaving. If I’m Maguire, I cannot see myself playing the next game.

“He needs to take a big decision. If he wants to play for Chelsea, that could be good for him.

“I think it’s a win-win situation for Chelsea and Maguire. If I am Maguire, I would leave Manchester United,” he added.
