Chelsea loanee and Belgium international Romelu Lukaku could be back at Stamford Bridge this summer.

This is according to Inter Milan president Steven Zhang who hinted that Lukaku could return to Chelsea this summer, as they are yet to hold talks with the Blues over a permanent deal for the striker.

After struggling in his first season at Chelsea following his £97.5 million transfer in 2021, Lukaku was allowed to return to Inter Milan on loan last summer for this term.

While he struggled with injuries this season, he managed to end the season with 14 goals in all competitions for Inter.

There are still speculations on whether Lukaku will be a part of new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino’s plans next season, especially as they are determined to sign a new striker this summer transfer window.

“He [Lukaku] has shown to be a great forward for Inter; he is an extraordinary guy,” Zhang was quoted by Metro as saying after Inter Milan’s Champions League final defeat against Man City on Saturday night in Turkey.

“He is under contract at Chelsea, so we will have to wait and speak with them to understand his situation,” he added.
