Lukaku supports Conte’s on not being utilised well at Chelsea

Chelsea striker and Belgium international Romelu Lukaku has taken sides with his former coach, Antonio Conte, on not being utilised well at Stamford Bridge under Thomas Tuchel.

Conte, in a previous statement, said the Blues were yet to figure out how to use Lukaku following his slow performance in recent matches.

Tuchel, in his response, however, said that it was not the striker’s problem.

Lukaku has now shared his opinion as he takes a side with Conte; the Belgium striker revealed he doesn’t like being a traditional striker as he can play the ball with his feet.

“The way I’m built – I’m quite big – everybody thinks I’m a sort of target man: just holding up the ball and being a goal poacher,” he told UEFA.com via The Mirror.

“But I’ve never played that way and I hate it. My biggest strength is that I’m dangerous when I’m facing towards the goal, because that’s when I rarely make wrong choices.”

We will have to wait till the Blues next match in the English Premier League vs Brentford In October to know if Tuchel will permit Lukaku to play the way he wants.
