Chelsea striker and Belgium international Romelu Lukaku has touched down in Italy where he would be undergoing his medicals as he returns to Inter Milan this summer.

The Belgian star left the Italian Seria A side last summer to join Chelsea for a second spell after leaving the London side in 2014.

However, Lukaku was unable to impress in his second return to Stamford Bridge, starting only 16 Premier League games.

The Belgian striker came under criticism in December after he was interviewed with Italian media in which he claimed he was struggling in Thomas Tuchel’s system and wanted to return to Italy.

Despite leaving Inter last summer, Lukaku has continued to be linked with a return to the Italian club before Inter football executive Beppe Marotta confirmed that Lukaku would be rejoining on a season-long loan deal.

The reports revealed Lukaku arrived in Italy ahead of Wednesday’s medical, with Inter supporters waiting to greet Lukaku who landed in Milan on Tuesday.

In his previous spell with the Italian side, the striker scored 64 goals in 95 appearances, helping his side win the Serie A title under Antonio Conte.
