As Jurgen Klopp continue to solve the mystery behind his defenders injury, the club’s pursuit of Juventus defender Merih Demiral has hit a stumbling block.

Liverpool’s injury crisis this season have seen them lose first-choice centre back Virgil Van Dijk and Joel Gomez.

The Premier League champion have been forced to deploy Fabinho who is now out on injury alongside Joel Matip who has been a brilliant backup.

With Klopp in the hunt for a new centre back that will stay with the team for at least the end of the season, a reported bid for Juventus centre-back Merih Demiral has seemingly been rejected.

According to Sky Italia, Juventus have rejected a £45 million bid from Liverpool for the Turkish centre-back who has been showing his class for the Seria A giant.

Demiral has been putting in brilliant performance for Juventus whenever his called on and Liverpool see him as a potential replacement for their injured defender.

With the transfer window set to close in the nearest few hour, Jurgen Klopp is willing to convince Demiral into making the move to the Premier League.

Liverpool will be eager to pull a deal with Demiral in the coming days as they have just Nathaniel Phillips and Rhys Williams as natural centre-back options in Jurgen Klopp’s side.
