Liverpool coach Peter Krawietz has nothing but praise for new signing Ibrahima Konate as he insists that the centre-half can become world-class at the club.

The reds failed to retain their Premier League title last season with an injury to Virgil van Dijk playing a considerable role in their disappointing season.

Liverpool showed that they mean business this season by agreeing to a deal with Red Bull Leipzig in the early days of the transfer window.

The reds beat off competition from other top teams in Europe, and Krawietz thinks fans could have a real gem on the pitch in the coming years.

Speaking with Liverpool’s official website, Krawietz stated that the Frenchman could eventually become world-class on Merseyside.

He noted that Liverpool managers see the absolute potential to develop into a world-class centre-half.

According to Krawietz, Kanoute is a young player still but also experienced, he is an intelligent centre-half, and in terms of defending, he has the physical body to be a proper centre-half.

Kanoute will be pairing Virgil van Dijk next season as the reds are willing to wrestle the Premier League trophy from Manchester City.
