Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly among the clubs gaining momentum in their pursuit of a 22-year-old attacker this summer.

Both clubs are gearing up for significant squad changes ahead of the 2024-25 season as they transition under new head coaches. Liverpool have announced Arne Slot as Jurgen Klopp’s successor, while Chelsea are close to appointing Enzo Maresca following Mauricio Pochettino’s departure.

Focus on Attack Reinforcement

As they aim to improve on their third and sixth-placed Premier League finishes, both Liverpool and Chelsea are keen to bolster their attacking options. One player who has caught their attention is Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville.

Summerville Seeking Leeds Exit?

Recent reports indicate that Liverpool and Chelsea, along with Arsenal, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and Brighton & Hove Albion, are monitoring Summerville. According to Football Insider, Summerville is set to push for a summer exit from Leeds after the club failed to secure promotion back to the Premier League.

Leeds are reportedly willing to let Summerville leave if he requests it. As one of their most valuable assets, Leeds believe they can secure a significant fee from his departure.

Financial Necessity for Leeds

Following their 1-0 loss to Southampton in the Championship playoff final, Leeds must raise funds through player sales to balance their books for another season in the second tier. Summerville, who has two years left on his contract, is valued between £35m and £40m after an outstanding 2023-24 season, where he scored 20 goals and provided nine assists in 46 appearances, earning him the Championship Player of the Season award.

Summerville is one of several Leeds players facing an uncertain future, alongside 13 others who were loaned out in the 2023-24 season.
