Following the 2-2 outcome of the match between Liverpool and Brighton over the weekend, the Reds are now three points behind EPL league toppers Chelsea.

In order to prevent an increase in the gap between Liverpool and Chelsea, former Reds forward Stan Collymore has dropped advice for Jurgen Klopp.

According to Collymore, the Reds need to sign a new midfielder due to their injuries issues.

Recall that Guinea international Naby Keita sustained an injury during Liverpool’s clash against Brighton over the weekend.

While Klopp has suggested that his side does not want fresh options in the area during the summer, however, several midfielders have already missed large parts of the season.

Collymore, in his statement, warned that Klopp’s side would soon fall away from their title rivals if the problem in the midfield was not addressed.

“Naby, I’m worried, I’ve got to be honest,” the 50-year-old told Liverpool site Empire of the Kop.

“The central hub of Liverpool’s midfield now needs every one of the technical staff, every one of the recruitment staff, to look at it and say: ‘Is there an argument that we need to bring somebody in, in midfield?’

“I believe the answer to the argument is yes. Don’t now let this three-point gap to Chelsea become six or nine because you haven’t addressed those issues.”
