A recent report has revealed tha Lille are open to welcoming back their former striker and Belgium international Eden Hazard.

This is according to Lille president Olivier Letang, who has refused to rule out a potential return for the former Chelsea talisman in the near future.

Hazard, 30, continues to endure a demanding spell with Real Madrid since joining them from Chelsea in 2019.

The former Blues star has missed over 60 games due to incessant injury problems.

Owing to his poor performance for the Los Blancos since joining them, the Belgium international has been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu, and Letang, in a statement, stressed that a return to Ligue 1 could be a possibility.

“Hazard back to Lille? It is not impossible,” Letang told French news outlet L’Equipe Soir.

“I’ll go to Spain if necessary. It may seem impossible. Obviously, Hazard is an incredible player with a lot of quality. Right now, he is a Real Madrid player and has a contract with that club.”

Hazard started his professional career with Lille, where he scored 50 goals and created 53 assists in 194 appearances across all competitions during a successful five-year spell with the club.

In 2012, he left Lille to join Premier League giants Chelsea.
