Latest update on Rudiger’s future at Chelsea
Germany international and Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has been linked with a departure away from the club at the end of this season.
So far, Rudiger is yet to extend his contract with the Blues by putting pen to paper, which has raised speculation on possible moves to Bayern Munich or Juventus.
However, a latest report via transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Chelsea are negotiating with Antonio Rudiger’s agent.
“There have been rumours about interest from Juventus but so far there are no confirmed contacts”, Romano claimed in his CBS Sports column.
He added that Bayern Munich are also among the teams interested in the German defender but Chelsea remains the front-runner.
Romano stressed that Chelsea would first look to finalize an imminent agreement with Andreas Christensen, then try to find a solution for Rudiger, who is among Thomas Tuchel’s favourite players.
Hopefully, the German defender would sign a new contract before the January transfer window as the Blues plans to sell him by then if he fails to accept their new terms.
In another report, Rudiger is likely to start for Chelsea on Wednesday when they face Italian side Juventus in the UCL.
