A latest report by journalist Simon Phillips has revealed that Everton manager Frank Lampard is targeting a January window move for Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Lampard, a former Chelsea star, is said to have his eyes on the 26-year-old midfielder and could push a bid for him when the winter transfer window opens.

Loftus-Cheek happens to be one of the regular starters in the Blues squad under manager Graham Potter this season.

Despite his game time with Chelsea this season, the midfielder was, however, left out of the final England squad for the World Cup.

This means while some of his teammates will be actively involved in Qatar, Loftus-Cheek, who is currently on holiday, will be preparing for the second half of the club season.

For the midfielder, this season has been a good one for him as a Chelsea player as he had been on loan at Crystal Palace and Fulham in the past.

Considering Chelsea’s woes in the midfield with N’Golo Kante and Matteo Kovacic battling injuries, it is unlikely the Blues would allow Loftus-Cheek to leave in January.
