Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga in a message to his teammates revealed they are to be blamed for Saturday’s defeat to Southampton.

The game against Southampton saw Graham Potter leave out a few key players over the weekend as the likes of Reece James, Thiago Silva, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Hakim Ziyech were all rested.

The defensive and offensive roles played by James and Silva, in particular, had an effect on the team during their absence.

However, Arrizabalaga stated that the whole team were underperforming at the moment.

“Everything is going against us right now, we are in a bad moment, and we have to stick together,” the Spain international said after the game.

“We have a big squad, a lot of players, and a lot of quality, but the things, they are not going well.

“But it is not because we changed six or five or one player, it is more general, we are not doing well, it is clear and we have to improve.
