Italian giant Inter Milan were ready to bring in Chelsea’s defender Emerson Palmieri to Italy last summer as they wanted him to replace Ivan Perisic.

Emerson have been having a mixed season at Chelsea as he has been forced to become the third choice in his position ever since the blues signed Ben Chilwell.

The Italian was back in the team under Frank Lampard but has been forced to sit back on the bench ever since Tuchel was appointed as the new manager.

According to an Italian media report today, Emerson might have become an Inter Milan player during the summer as Perisic would have been playing for Manchester United.

As reported by CalcioMercato.com, Perisic could have left Inter after returning from his loan spell with Bayern Munich, where he started in their Champions League triumph last season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United enquired about the availability of the 32-year-old as Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur was also linked with a move.

However, none of the clubs made an offer despite that Inter Milan had lined up Italy international Emerson as a replacement.
