Arsenal have suffered a major setback as they head to the international break.

The recent update revealed that one of the Gunners crucial players Kai Havertz has withdrawn from international duty for Germany.

Recall that the North London club have several of their key players on the sidelines.

The was part of the reason manager Mikel Arteta made some changes to their lineup in their match against Southampton over the weekend.

While Arsenal struggled in the first half against the Saints, they, however,  managed to secure a win after an improved second-half form, thanks to Arteta’s tactical changes.

The Gunners manager had hoped to welcome Martin Odegaard back after the international break, but he now has to be worried about another injury concern.

A report from Standard Sport disclosed that Havertz has pulled out of international duty with Germany after sustaining an injury during Arsenal’s win over Southampton.

This was also confirmed by the German FA who in a statement said Havertz will miss Germany’s upcoming international matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Netherlands due to knee problems as they hope he well soon.

Arteta said will hope Havertz’s injury isn’t severe so he can return to the team after the international break.
