Italian side Inter Milan have reportedly ruled out any interest in Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.

Recall that Lukaku left San Siro last summer only to return to Stamford Bridge in a record-breaking transfer worth around £97m.

Lukaku had a good start at Stamford Bridge after he had earlier left the club in 2014, but so far, he has struggled to make an impact at the club, having netted just five Premier League goals in 17 appearances.

Because of his struggles at Chelsea, the Belgian striker has been linked with a return to Inter Milan, where he won the Italian Seria A alongside former Blues coach Antonio Conte last season.

However, multiple reports in Italy, via Football Italia, are suggesting that the Serie A champions are not seeking a move for their former forward, largely due to the financial implications that would be involved in a potential deal.

The report claimed that Inter Milan’s struggling financial situation meant that the sales of Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi were required to cover significant losses, which led to Conte leaving the Italian capital.

In another report, Lukaku is likely to get a nod to start for Chelsea in their EFL Cup final against Liverpool on Sunday, after he was left on the bench for the 2-0 win over Lille in the Champions League on Wednesday.
