I was not happy at Arsenal – Former Chelsea star reveals

Former Chelsea and Arsenal defender, William in a recent statement, has revealed he was not happy at Emirate Stadium during his time with Arsenal.

Recall that William left Chelsea for Arsenal and went on to sign a three-year deal with the Gunners but left for Corinthians before the expiration of the agreement.

His departure from the Emirates came only one year after he arrived on a free transfer from Chelsea.

During his time with Arsenal under Mikel Arteta as a coach, Willian scored just once in 37 appearances.

It, however, looks like the 33-year-old winger is now relieved to have let go of his history at Arsenal.

He noted that his time at Arsenal was not good as he was not happy at the North London club.

While he refused to go into full details, he, however, said he believed his return to Brazil was the best option.

“I studied some other opportunities, but I wanted to return to Corinthians, to my home, to be close to my family. It’s the club that projected me to the world, revealed me. The right time to come back was this,” Willian told TV Corinthians.
