How Arsenal can sign Nico Williams from Athletic Club

Arsenal are keen on making additions in the January transfer window and one of the players on their target list is Athletic Club winger Nico Williams.

With Bukayo Saka out for a few months due to injuries, the North London club are on the lookout for a worthy replacement.

However, in a bid to sign Williams, Arsenal will have to offer a huge salary to lure him to the Premier League.

Arsenal are among the many top clubs who are admirers of the winger, who has impressed in La Liga and Euro 2024.

A report via The Athletic disclosed that they are willing to match the forward’s release clause this January.

But they will have to go the extra mile to convince the 22-year-old to leave the La Liga in favour of a move to North London.

This is because Williams will demand high wages, which could see him become one of Europe’s highest-paid players.

Due to the tax differences between Spain and England, the Gunners may have to offer more Williams more than £300,000 per week in order to meet his demands.

Meanwhile, Williams has scored two goals and created five assists across La Liga and the Europa League, pushing his side to fourth in the Spanish top flight and second in the continental competition.
