Chelsea manager, Graham Potter in a  recent statement has admitted that winger and American international, Christian Pulisic is ‘pushing’ for a starting spot.

The former Brighton manager, however, said that the American star must be ‘ready’ when his opportunity comes.

Pulisic is keen on getting a spot in America’s national team for the 2022 World Cup but has started just two matches so far this season for the Blues, which could affect his chances.

Recall that Pulisic was linked with departure away from Stamford Bridge in the summer after growing frustrated under Thomas Tuchel.

When asked whether the American winger was worried about his situation at Stamford Bridge, the former Brighton boss said, “You can imagine my focus is on Chelsea.”

Potter further stressed that he has to come to terms with the fact all the players in his squad want to play football regularly for whatever reason but insisted that he must do his job as the manager.

“I am not saying I am right all the time, I am not but somebody has got to make the call. With Christian, I would say he has been fantastic around the place, been really good with teammates, and contributed against Wolves,” he told reporters.
