Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has slammed ex-Chelsea star Kai Havertz over his slow start at Arsenal.

Sherwood in his statement described  Havertz as ‘a complete waste of time,’ adding that the German player is overrated.

The former coach also queried what the former Chelsea player brings to the table at the Emirates Stadium.

Recall that Arsenal splashed a whopping €75 million to sign Havertz from Chelsea in the last summer transfer window.

However, Havertz has failed to impress at the North London club so far this season, scoring just one goal and providing one assist in 17 appearances for the Gunners across all competitions so far this season.

“Havertz, for me, is a complete waste of time,” Sherwood told Premier League Productions.

“I just don’t know what he is. I am not sure what he is at all. Is he a ten? A nine? He certainly is not an eight. It looks like he runs around. He thinks he is too cool to sweat. I think there are better options.”

He added: “If that was a kid making his debut, from what I saw at the weekend, but on a consistent basis, if a kid goes in and performs like he performs, you would never see him again. That’s an overrated player.”
