Chelsea star Kai Havetz has reacted to his performance for the Blues in the FIFA club world cup, which saw them win the trophy in the tournament.

This comes as Havetz scored his second final-winning goal in a Chelsea shirt, after netting the only goal in May’s Champions League final as well.

‘It’s amazing. From champions of Europe to champions of the world. It sounds better!’ Kai said post-match.

‘We did so much to be here and to win this game. It’s an incredible feeling.’

Kai also spoke on the feelings he got before he stepped up to take the penalty that confirmed Chelsea’s victory in the 177th minute of the match.

‘I have to be honest, I was [nervous]. It’s a big penalty, a big role. Just crazy. It was good I kept the nerves, so I’m very happy,’ Havertz added.

With neither designated penalty-taker Jorginho nor striker Romelu Lukaku on the pitch, the 22-year-old was next in line to take the spot-kick.

‘I think I’m the third penalty taker,’ Havertz said. ‘Jorgi and Rom were both out. I was the only one on the pitch. The other players gave me trust. Hakim Ziyech, everybody said to me: “You do it, you do it”.

‘I don’t know what to say. I dreamed of this as a kid, an amazing feeling for me. I’m thankful for everyone that brought me here, my family, my girlfriend.

‘The UCL final, now this – it is all for them.’
