Havertz reacts to Potter’s sack at Chelsea

Chelsea star and Germany international Kai Havertz has reacted to the club’s decision to sack Graham Potter last Sunday.

While Havertz said it was not for the players to decide, he, however, urged the club to let managers spend longer time with players, insisting it was not nice to hire and fire the way Graham Potter and Thomas Tuchel were treated.

According to the German, the players were ‘frustrated’ with Potter’s departure at Stamford Bridge as he appealed to the club owners to sign a new manager as soon as possible.

Following Potter’s departure, assistant manager Bruno Saltor took over on an interim basis and led the Blues to a goalless draw against Liverpool on Tuesday night

“First of all, I have to say it is really nice and we have to respect Bruno and the coaching staff for standing in front of the team when the manager got the sack,” he told Sky Sports.

“But when you have a manager long term it is easier for us players.

“It is not nice. We are all very frustrated to see Graham go but we have to accept the situation.”
