Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has reacted to his side’s loss to Arsenal on Sunday.

Guardiola in a post-match statement said Arsenal needed “one deflection” to defeat his side by a 1-0 scoreline.

Gabriel Martinelli, who came in as a substitute grabbed the only goal of the game in the 86th minute.

His shot came off Nathan Ake, wrong-footing Ederson in the City goal.

It is Arsenal’s first win over the Premier League champions in 12 matches and second in all tournaments this season.

Guardiola, speaking to MOTD, said: “One deflection. We had 10–15 really good moments in the first half. They started the second half well. It was a tight game. Not many chances, one deflection.

“It was a tight game. We defended really well; the players gave everything. It is football; we lost the game. We will come back stronger.”
