Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has played down the comparison of his current squad with the squad that won Liverpool and Manchester City their Premier League title.

Frank Lampard made a bold statement during the summer transfer window as Chelsea brought in some exciting young players as well as an experienced defender in Thiago Silva.

Their arrival sparked the Blues to the top of the league table earlier in the season, a move which prompted Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to claim that Chelsea are favourites to lift the top-flight title in May.

However, two consecutive defeats have put some question mark on the blues credibility while Liverpool have continue to fire on by winning in empathic fashion against Tottenham and Crystal Palace.

Lampard during a press conference this week has now insisted that his Chelsea side are not a Liverpool of last year or a Manchester City of the year before who can just go out and win consecutively.

He noted that there are some periods where his team have to be ready for some tough moments.

According to Lampard, Liverpool in their period looked like an absolute machine last year, but there are some moments when the Kloop side also looked at themselves.

Chelsea boss who has been consistent in adding positivity to his team added that Liverpool have been together for quite some time which builds confidence within the team of players that can deal with things better in games.
