Frank Lampard affirms Chelsea plotting thrilling end to transfer dry spell

Lampard has affirmed that Chelsea plan to acquire “a couple” key additions in the up and coming transfer window, to end the recent dry spell of appearances at the club.

The Blues were given a transfer ban for two windows last February, which means their only significant summer business the previous summer was to take up the alternative to purchase Mateo Kovacic in the midfielder’s loan deal.

While the Court of Arbitration for Sport divided the ban in December – permitting Chelsea to spend in January – no fresh introductions were acquired, but an agreement was struck with Ajax to sign Hakim Ziyech toward the end of the season.
