Former football stars, Rio Ferdinard and Cesc Fabregas have taken time out to applaud Chelsea player Mason Mount following their recent win vs. Man City.

Recall that the Blues battled it out with Pep Guardiola’s led Man City squad in Porto on Saturday night.

Chelsea scored the lone goal before halftime thanks to an effort from Kai Havertz who got a great pass from Mount.

Ferdinand said on BT Sport: “The way that Mason Mount turns on this ball, faces the game and just sees it.

It’s a good run from Havertz, the ball from Mason Mount is absolutely on the money, but it’s lazy defending from Zinchenko.”

Former Blues playmaker Fabregas tweeted: “What a ball!! Mason Mount that’s what I’m talking about!”

Chelsea have now been able to secure their second Champions League trophy after they lifted it in 2012.

Apart from Mount, another Blues player which many football fans have applauded is N’Golo Kante who won the man of the match once again in the finals.

Chelsea were least expected to go far in the UCL this season but they have won the trophy and are the current European champions, which means they would be one club to look out for next season.
