Former Chelsea defender and Germany international Antonio Rudiger in a statement has said he deliberately made mistakes during his time at Stamford Bridge.

Rudiger, who was highly rated at Chelsea said he made mistakes to stir the fans up and increase the volume at Stamford Bridge.

He said he intentionally caused chaos during the Blues games when he feels their fans were too quiet.

The German international, who left Chelsea for Spanish club Real Madrid this summer as a free agent ended his five seasons at Stamford Bridge winning the Champions League, FA Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup.

“I’ll be honest: I deliberately made a few mistakes because it was just too quiet in the stadium for me during this game,” Rudiger told German outlet Sport1.

“I wanted to wake people up with it.”

After Rudiger’s departure, Chelsea went on to sign new defenders in the summer window and they are Marc Cucurella and Kalidou Koulibaly.
