Spain striker and former Chelsea player Alvaro Morata has confirmed his exit from La Liga side Atletico Madrid this summer transfer window.

Morata confirmed he would be moving to the Italian Serie A side AC Milan this summer.

The striker, who said he would undergo his medical at AC Milan, has also penned a message of goodbye to his teammates at Atletico Madrid.

“I’m gonna undergo medical and then yes, I will join AC Milan,” Morata said.

Morata disclosed he also bid goodbye to his teammates, coach Simeone and the board.

According to the striker, it was better to part ways with Atletico Madrid when he can no longer give them his hundred per cent.

“I won the Euros as Atlético player,” the former Chelsea and Real Madrid star said while speaking via COPE.

Recall that Morata recently lifted the Euro 2024 alongside his Spain national teammates after their 2-1 win over England in the final in Germany last weekend.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid are been linked with moves for Man City striker Julián Álvarez as a replacement for Morata.

The Argentine star has scored 36 goals in 103 games since joining the Premier League champions in the summer of 2022 from River Plate.

He has, however, failed to break into Man City’s first team due to Erling Haaland’s presence.
