Former Chelsea star, Joe Cole in a recent statement as urged the club’s hierarchy under Todd Boehly to make moves for Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti as the Blues’ permanent manager when Frank Lampard leaves at the end of the season.

Recall that Lampard arrived at Chelsea after Graham Potter last Sunday.

However, Lampard’s appointment temporary as it will lapse at the end of the season.

Speaking on BT Sport, Cole said: “There is one man out there who is very active at the moment and that is Carlo Ancelotti.

“If I was the owner of a football club and there was one appointment you could make to steady a ship and win you trophies, he’s the first name.”

He added, “I think it is very difficult for Jose [Mourinho] to come back to Chelsea at some point because he is gone to Tottenham because he is gone to Manchester United.

“There is a connection maybe with the fans that was not what it once was.”
