Chelsea midfielder Kai Havertz might have not had an excellent debut season with the Blues. Still, he was able to score the winning goal against Manchester City during the Champions League final.

Kai Havertz has been able to build on the performance against City as he’s become an essential player for Germany at the ongoing Euro 2020.

The 22-year-old scored and caused Portugal a lot of problems when Germany defeated them 4-2 nearly a week ago.

He continued the good form by scoring Germany’s first goal against Hungary, a performance that has not gone unnoticed by Pat Nevin.

Speaking to Off the Ball, Pat Nevin heaped praise on Kai Havertz, noting that he saw similarities between him and the former Blues midfielder, Frank Lampard during that Euro 2020 victory.

Frank Lampard brought Havertz to Chelsea from Bayern Leverkusen last summer but he was unable to bring the best out of the Germany international.

Kai Havertz was able to get back his old days under Thomas Tuchel and he will be eager to continue the good form when the new season kicks off.
