Former Chelsea goalie makes UEFA team of the season

Former Chelsea and now Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois made the UEFA team of the season.

This comes as UEFA recently unveiled the Champions League Team for the 2022/2023 season.

Courtois, was selected as the shot stopper.

European champions Manchester City, who lifted their first ever title this season have seven players included in the starting XI.

Inter Milan, who made it to the final had two defenders in the squad.

Defenders: Kyle Walker (Man City), Ruben Dias (Man City), Alessandro Bastoni (Inter), Federico Dimarco (Inter)

Midfielders: John Stones (Man City), Kevin De Bruyne (Man City), Rodri (Man City)

Forwards: Bernardo Silva (Man City), Erling Haaland (Man City), Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid)

Meanwhile, Courtois during his time at Chelsea won two Premier League titles and the EFL Cup.

In 2018, the Belgian goalie signed for Real Madrid in a deal worth a reported £35 million (€38.8 million), becoming La Liga’s most expensive goalkeeper.
