Chelsea may now be able to breathe a sign of relief on signing Mykhailo Mudrky, who failed to score a goal last season after joining them in January.

Former Arsenal star Paul Merson in a statement applauded the Ukrainian winger over his first goal for the club.

Mudryk, who joined the Blues Shakhtar Donetsk scored a goal in their thrilling 4-3 win against Brighton on Saturday.

The winger, who penned an eight-year contract from Shakhtar Donetsk in the January transfer window had left many worried over his form last season.

However, the Ukrainian’s moment finally came over the weekend during Mauricio Pochettino’s side’s game against Brighton in the summer series.

The EPL went head to head in the pre-season tournament friendly in the United States.

Mudryk brilliantly found the back of the net after he was teed up by Nicolas Jackson in the 65th minute.
