First teams players linked with moves away from Chelsea come summer revealed

A number of first-team players will have to leave Chelsea come the summer transfer window.

The affected players are said to be numbering up to 5 as a report in the Evening Standard claimed Mason Mount could lead the mass departure.

The likes of N’Golo Kante, Conor Gallagher, Mateo Kovacic and Edouard Mendy are also stuck in contract talks, leaving their future in doubt.

Chelsea are said to be ready to let go of these players who have stalled contract talks at the west London club.

However, Chelsea’s new owners don’t want to make the same mistakes made by the old regime that saw the likes of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen leave Chelsea on a free transfer to Real Madrid and Barcelona, respectively.

Mount is currently in contact talks with Chelsea but the England international is yet to agree to the terms, while Kovacic will be entering the final year of his contract this summer and Chelsea are yet to open talks with the Croatia star.

Mendy has lost his spot to Kepa Arrizabalaga since Potter replaced Thomas Tuchel as manager, while Kante is in the final months of his current contract at Chelsea and a report revealed he is not keen on extending his contract.

Gallagher was close to joining Everton in January but Chelsea kept him and sold Jorginho to Arsenal instead.
